Wayfinding

A funny term that says what it does.

There are few things in an unfamiliar place more critical than clear, accurate and informative signage. But it is far more than choosing the right font or color or size. Information must be highly intuitive, presented in a logical heirarchy, and be delivered in portions that are necessary and memorable. In short, there is a well developed strategy underlying any successful wayfinding system. That strategy will vary with conditions presented by each location.

Our clients expect wayfinding that delivers.

Key to any successful wayfinding project is seamless brand support. By it’s highly visible nature, wayfinding signage serves each place with a consistent purposely branded statement. It is a reminder of the significance of a well planned sense of place. It is delivered advantageously under the radar of most advertising consciousness.

We have worked with architects, retailers, hospitals and city planners to make places more friendly and easier to navigate.

What our clients are saying...

“The Schell Team clearly understood the complex tasks, were consumer centric with solutions and strategies that addressed the need for an intuitive, multi-level system of graphic communication for a diverse population.

Key contract deliverables included lively consensus building forums with our stakeholder groups, Design Review Board and City Council and the  preparation of a well reasoned master plan that included a wayfinding hierarchy, sign locations, and implementation related to budget planning and fabrication/installation of sign facilities over multi-year period.”
