We all know when we enter an environment that is welcoming and comfortable. There’s just something about the place that is compelling and at the same time relaxing; having a sense of being intentional and well planned; stimulating, infused with an overall sense of wellbeing. Obviously a retail environment is different than a hospital environment or an office or a themed restaurant. Yet all have elements in common that that make them more or less successful.

What are the colors saying? What does the lighting do to communicate the message that the owner wants to convey? Do the material choices establish a market level that is consistent with the mission of the business? Does the signage tell a story that is more than a collection of letters? Does it identify, inform and direct clearly? Are guests comfortable, do they want to explore the choices you offer, stay a little longer and return later with a friend?
